These Independent Study sites are part of the Institute for Civil Memory (ICM) sector within the GLC / Gwyn Legacy ecosystem. Institute for Civil Memory is a nonprofit-oriented initiative within GLC / Gwyn Legacy. It is not currently filed as a separate nonprofit entity and is not currently soliciting or collecting donations.

This Privacy Policy applies to the Independent Study Academy, Independent Study Online, Independent Study High School, Independent Study ID, and IndependentStudyID.org websites and related services within that ecosystem.

Information we may collect

  • Contact form submissions and business communications.
  • Account, profile, authentication, and access data where accounts exist.
  • Project data, service records, support requests, uploaded files, documents, media, prototypes, and client-provided materials.
  • Technical logs, device/browser details, IP address, timestamps, diagnostics, security events, analytics, cookies, local storage, session storage, and preference data.
  • Email communications and records needed to respond to requests or operate services.
  • Health, research, prototype, or workflow data only where a specific project or service relationship requires it.

How information is used

  • To operate websites, applications, APIs, PWAs, dashboards, mobile apps, prototypes, client services, support, security, and communications.
  • To respond to contact, support, privacy, DPA, or BAA requests.
  • To maintain service records, troubleshoot issues, improve reliability, and protect against abuse.
  • To meet legal, contractual, security, accounting, or compliance obligations.

Storage, protection, retention, and deletion

Reasonable administrative, technical, and organizational safeguards are used based on the service context. Data may be retained as long as needed for operations, security, legal, contractual, backup, audit, or legitimate business purposes. Deletion or export requests may be submitted through the Contact or Support page, subject to legal, security, backup, and contractual limits.

Sharing

Information may be shared with service providers, infrastructure providers, professional advisors, authorities when legally required, or project collaborators where needed to deliver services. Information is not sold as a standalone product.

HIPAA and sensitive workflows

Do not submit Protected Health Information or highly sensitive health, clinical, research, or regulated data through general forms unless a written agreement authorizes that workflow. A Business Associate Agreement may be available for eligible HIPAA-regulated clients before PHI is processed, transmitted, stored, or accessed.
